A digital proof is easier to review when you separate content checks from layout checks. Use the same sequence each time, and collect corrections in one clear list so the intended final version is easy to identify.

Start with the order configuration

Confirm the product, finished dimensions, orientation, material and print sides. Check whether the order is for a graphic alone or a complete display with hardware. If several pieces are included, make sure each proof is labeled for the correct product and size.

Read every word

Check names, dates, prices, addresses and contact details against the approved source copy. Read phone numbers digit by digit. Verify that any QR code or web address points to the intended destination and remains clear in the final design. Do not rely on a previous version being correct.

Inspect placement

Review the position and relative size of the logo, headline and supporting information. Look for content near trim edges, folds, pole pockets, sleeves or mounting points. On a shaped product, use the supplied product template rather than judging only the rectangular preview area.

For double-sided work, review each face separately. Confirm that the requested front and back artwork, orientation and reading direction are correct.

Record approval clearly

Label feedback with the proof version and describe each change precisely. Keep a copy of the approved file with your project notes. A screen preview helps assess the layout, but color appearance can vary with displays and print materials; discuss important color requirements before approval.

The proof process guide explains what to include in a request. Use artwork review for file questions and material samples when a physical reference would help you decide.
