Tax-exempt order requests
Business ordering
If your organization expects an order to receive tax-exempt treatment, ask for a review before completing the purchase.
Start with the order details
Identify the purchasing organization, the delivery destination and the products being considered. Ask which documentation and review steps apply to that specific order.
Wait for confirmation
Sending an inquiry does not change checkout tax calculations or establish approval. Keep any confirmation with your purchasing records. For an existing order, include its reference so the request can be reviewed in context.
Include in your request
- Organization name and purchasing contact
- Delivery state or region and postal code
- Product or existing order reference
- A note describing the documentation you hold
Before you proceed
Eligibility, required documents and whether any adjustment is available must be confirmed. Do not put taxpayer identification numbers or sensitive certificates in the initial public inquiry; ask for the appropriate submission method.
