Choose materials and finishes

Product planning

Choose a material around the setting, viewing conditions and installation method. Use the specifications on the exact product page as the starting point.

Describe the setting

Consider indoor or outdoor placement, viewing distance, lighting and how long the display will stay in use. For window or surface graphics, identify the substrate and which side the artwork should be viewed from.

Compare the construction

Review weight or thickness, opacity, print sides, edge finishing and the required hardware. Similar-looking products may use different materials or include different components.

Make finish choices deliberately

Gloss, matte, reflective and laminated finishes serve different needs. Request a sample or a configuration review when appearance, glare or surface compatibility is central to the project.

Include in your request

  • Products or materials you are comparing
  • Use location, display period and viewing distance
  • Mounting method or surface
  • Preferences for finish, opacity and reuse

Before you proceed

Suitability should be confirmed for the selected product and use. Ask for material-specific specifications instead of treating a category description as a guarantee.
